Our Upper School students are spending Half Term in Romania and we’re here to give you a mid-trip update on what they’ve been up to.
The students have settled into rural Romanian life and have enjoyed a wide variety of activities, both cultural and adventurous in nature.
They have fully embraced the Romanian cuisine and have prepared several traditional meals, many of which were cooked on an open fire under the guidance of our Romanian hosts. There were no shortcuts, with the
It was a quiet week at school last week with the entire Upper School away for their annual Winter Camp. Under the leadership of five seasoned campers who also happen to be their teachers, the students took themselves down to South West Wales to set up camp at the Penquoit Centre.
An initial party arrived ahead of the others in order to make the preparations for the week, and despite a few hiccoughs including a power outage and tidying up in the wake of a
Last Sunday the upper school students and teachers loaded up two minibuses and headed for France. After a relatively long day of driving, breathing in the awesome French countryside, we arrived in a nice campsite in Chartres.
The first day of our trip was spent visiting the magnificent Chartres cathedral. The students were inspired by the incredible architecture and the famous Rose Window, and some of them managed to climb the bell tower for some spectacular views over Chartres.

During the February half term, fifteen students and teachers headed off to Mayrhofen on the annual Acorn Ski Trip. A great week was had by all and we were blessed with fresh snow on arrival, followed by a week of gorgeous sunshine, perfect pistes and endless runs throughout the whole of the Ziller Valley, including Graeme’s favourite, the Hintertux Glacier.
On one day most of the students decided to swap their skis for snowboards and spent the day on the slopes
In the last week of November, the upper school students and Graeme, Sarah, Barney and James headed down to Pembrokeshire for our annual winter camp. We all had a fantastic, action packed week with groups heading off to brave the cold sea and go surfing, others deep sea fishing, and the whole upper school setting off for a day orienteering around the paths of the beautiful Pemrokeshire coast. These activities were supplemented with the wonderful food cooked by Sarah, and
