FRIDAY, 25TH SEPTEMBER – Throughout the week, the children have been bringing in fresh produce in honour of harvest time and the change in seasons. The sound of young voices singing Michaelmas songs has been heard drifting out into the corridors, and a general feeling of autumnal warmth has nestled into the corners of the school.

The last Friday in September saw the Acorn community gather together in our freshly re-plastered halls to celebrate our annual Michaelmas Harvest Festival with songs and poems dedicated to Saint Michael, a symbol of strength and hope. Our families also brought in fresh fruit and vegetables in honour of harvest time, and these were arranged in the hall to form a beautiful autumnal cornucopia.

The whole school descended on Selsey Common for a wonderful afternoon of kiteflying and picnics to celebrate Michaelmas out in the autumn winds.
