SATURDAY, 16TH MAY – After several years’ break, our Summer Fair was finally revived as a charity fundraiser for Acorn Overseas – a charity for children set up in 2010 by Graeme and Sarah’s daughter, Natasha Whiting.

Acorn Students Cycle from Land’s End to Stroud

Last weekend two Acorn students cycled 246 miles from Land’s End to Stroud. They travelled to Land’s End on Thursday and began their cycling journey on Friday morning. The journey took three days and involved camping en-route one night.

The students raised over £800 of which one third will be donated to the Acorn Overseas Charity for Children. The remainder will help to fund their upcoming ski trip, organised by the school.


The Acorn School supports the Philippines Typhoon Aid Appeal

Over the past few weeks we have supported the Philippines Typhoon Aid appeal through two different channels. Firstly we have donated £100 to Lloyds Bank’s charity collection, half of which came from our Tuesday soup fund, and the other half directly from the school.

Secondly, on Friday 22nd November we hosted a concert by Rob Harbron and Miranda Rutter, who kindly provided us with an hour of delightful Folk Music. Our extremely generous community donated £400 which has gone
