From September 2018, James Whiting and Barney Franklin have taken over the leadership of the school, as joint headmasters.
Barney Franklin has been a teacher at The Acorn School for 20 years and has played a large part in the school’s development over this period, whilst completing roles as gym teacher, class teacher, upper school sponsor, and leader of numerous cultural and adventure trips throughout the United Kingdom and Europe.
James Whiting was a student at The Acorn School for 12 years and, having completed his undergraduate and postgraduate studies, returned to the school as an upper school science teacher and later the Head of Upper School. Throughout his time at the school, James has been a large part of the development and modernisation of the school, working with the founders to develop policies and procedures that ensure the school remains a professional, transparent and compliant educational establishment in to the future.
